TuneUp Times

with Cath

Greetings,

There's simply no kidding about life-long learning. It's continuous.

On a personal and professional level, the need to update goes on and on. That's why I'm inclined to believe TuneUps are important for employees, new hires or anyone who needs their professional skills 'refreshed.'  Call on me when you see the need! Glad to help.

Since last I stopped by, FACEBOOK. Update!

Facebook. What is it anyway and why do I need to or should I even want to be up-to- date with this? It seems to be staying around, it's BIG. Oh dear. Another chunk of something to learn.

In order to keep everyone in the TuneUp loop, the 'Human TuneUp' Facebook Page has been created and will feature updates to the Human Tuneup website,  Vital Signs, Tips on Customer Service, Upcoming Events, New Keynotes, Workshops and TuneUp Products for helping the world work.

Please & Thank You: When you visit the new Human TuneUp page on Facebook, be sure to click on the "Like" button so you'll get updates to the page.

I would consider it a personal favor if you would forward this newsletter to associates, managers, friends and those in the business community that may find benefit from the messages, the workshops, interactive keynotes or products offered through Human TuneUp.

Grateful.

Stay Tuned and see you next month,

Cath DeStefano

   A TUNEUP FOR WOMEN
Half the people. Half the power

One day I asked myself:  "What is the most important thing I can be doing to help the world now?"

Without a moment's hesitation the answer appeared.  Encourage women.

Inspired by that realization, and coupled with my longtime hunch that no country or community can fully work until the talents of women are woven into the mix, I created

Half the People, Half the Power.

                              A NEW KEYNOTE includes:

▪ Stories of the Journey to Here
▪ By the Power Vested in Us by Nobody
   · The Hands Up Experiment
   · The Dangling Washer Experiment.
▪ We as the Link Between

INTENT: Not only words spoken, but includes experiments that create a revitalized sense of capabilities and next steps. more information at Human TuneUp

    PERSONAL TUNEUP
INTENT: Complaining as a stress relief tool

All in one afternoon recently, I became overloaded both by the Information Age and my endless To Do list.
Turned me cranky. I was bursting with complaints in search of a listener.
Smart me. I called my friend Ellen and she listened to me through my angst.

I am especially lucky, as we have been friends forever, and she knows how to listen deeply, without offering suggestions and solutions, just listening.
So.            Complaining? It can be good.
(Just don't complain to the same person all the time.)

Over complaining? Not so good.
(Is your Life trying to tell you something?)

   CUSTOMER SERVICE TUNEUP
INTENT:Creating customer centered workplaces staffed by people-skilled employees.

Service Works

It helps to get this.
At the simplest ground floor level, you and your customers need each other.
There's an unspoken agreement between the two of you.

I help you, it helps me.  Service pays off.

What's your payoff? Perhaps it's job security, or a sense of personal fulfillment, or some joy in helping?
When you help, it helps you.   Nice little circle of completeness.

This Customer Service TuneUp is an excerpt from the book:  It's Not Nice To Choke Your Customer.

   Wild Weather

When people speak post-tornado,
they talk about just being glad to be alive
and grateful for all the people coming to help.

May we be grateful to them for their reminders to us of priorities.
Breathing.
People to help when needed.

Gets nicely basic after a storm.
